• Is Anonymous Content Important?

It all depends on how you consider it.

  • Who needs anonymous content? Well, for starters, the readers themselves. Readers often get served content with a grain of salt. There is always a behind-the-scenes, prejudiced biased with the content that they are being served. That is where anonymity comes into play and the power of which can provide content without having a preconceived notion of bias. The Doe, for instance, is a website that is notorious for doing just that. That is one example of how anonymous content works to help deliver content to the reader.

So the question remains, is anonymous content important? It all depends on how you consider it. Is it important for the reader to receive a piece of information or news without knowing the source? Well, the answer is yes, if that source is known for constantly leaning towards, or favoring a particular news source or belief. If that’s the case, then the biased that the source of the content has will carry on to the reader. Which in turn will segregate the readers, each towards their own particular set of beliefs or ideals.

This is where anonymity can play a huge role in clearing up the divide and reversing that effect. In fact, anonymity can help bring people together by showing that they may have more in common. If a content provider provides anonymous content, then people will cease to separate themselves on the identity of the content provider, and simply go with what the content is. In that case, it is up to the individual to align themselves with their personal beliefs, and not that of a news station, media company, and other entities or institutions. Anonymity can play a huge role in how content is perceived and distributed. It is worth giving anonymous content a chance, to see the positives it may have on the receivers of that content.
